About this Event

Hear about the way climate has shaped art, hear local artists talk about their climate change-inspired work and ways in which local artists are getting climate messages to the public. We have seven local academics and artists who will present, followed by an open session giving other artists the chance to say about what they are doing in this space, and for everyone to discuss what can be done collectively to amplify impact. The programme is

Issy Gapp (University of Aberdeen), who will talk about Landscape Art History around the Circumpolar North

Ade Adesina (Artist) will talk about his art on climate change in a talk entitled "Decline"

Helen Scaife (Artist) will ask "How can art on climate change make a difference?"

Jodi Le Bigre (Artist) will talk about her work "'Acid, Calcium Carbonate, and the Disappearance of the Unseen"

Jen Clarke (Gray's School of Art) will talk about "Treescapes: Speculative Collaboration"

Jbenny Hood (Artist) will talk about "Zines for Activism"

Jesse Barker (University of Aberdeen) will present a talk titled "The Last Citrus Grove and the Art of Survival"

Other local artists are invited to bring material or do a short 2 minute presentation, but get a ticket first where contact details will be available.
