About this Event
Climate Cafes are an opportunity to discuss the emotions that arise out of the climate crisis (everything from anxiety, despair, and anger, to determination and hope) in a supportive environment of peers. Participating is cathartic, helps us get to know each other on a deeper level, and inspires us to act with the knowledge that we are not alone.
This is a monthly cafe hosted in partnership by ClimateCafe.eco and Penington Friends House. While the space is Quaker, the cafe is secular. We incourage deep reflection during our sessions, and welcome personal connections to spirit if you're someone who thinks in those terms.
This month, the cafe lands on in 'World Environment Day' - let's take that as an opportunity to reflect on the international nature of the climate crisis, and our emotions relatied to global inequality and global citizenship.
This event is open to everyone and nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. There is a suggested donation of $5 to cover snacks. Any proceeds beyond break-even will go to support other events building climate community in NYC.
