This 2-hour tour includes segments of major new trail projects that improve transportation options and better connect Cleveland and the region with the Cuyahoga River and the Lake Erie shore. These trails advance quality of life by providing access to populations that have been marginalized and were previously cut off from these assets. This investment represents an evolution of how the city’s transportation facilities are used and changing views on how waterfront assets are utilized.
Guides will discuss how the award-winning trails were developed, the partnerships needed for success, and how engagement of stakeholders and the community was utilized to build the support needed to advance these projects from plan to reality, including assembling a variety of funding sources. Speakers (and riders) will include staff from Cleveland Metroparks, the Port of Cleveland, and Bike Cleveland, which will also assist in safely escorting the group. The tour will depart from and return to the Hilton hotel and includes rental of pedal-assist e-bikes.
Please download the Bird app before the tour, which will allow you to individually rent and operate a bike. It will cost about $23 for a day pass. Bikes will be delivered to the front of the hotel so that you can begin there.
