>> - Career Mapping Specialist

Having spanned TV, film, journalism, higher education, and entrepreneurship, my career to date has been a long, winding (and fun!) road, but the common threads have always been creativity and storytelling. Now I’m laser-focused on being a creative champion for others and helping people find their own creative groove. My business, Creative Groove, offers both online and in-person courses, community, and coaching in the areas of writing, creativity, solopreneur + freelance success, The Artist’s Way.

As an experienced facilitator and Co-Active coach, I create supportive and energizing group environments rooted in my own creative expertise. Currently, my signature course is Creative Groove: A 12-Week Artist’s Way Journey, which is designed to help participants reconnect to their creativity and design a more colorful life. I firmly believe that everyone has a story and that we are all innately creative, and there is nothing more rewarding than the first time someone finally refers to themself as a writer, artist, or [fill in the creative blank here] while taking the course!

Previously to my work as an educator and entrepreneur, I spent nearly two decades working in various forms of media. Working in TV and film production fulfilled a lifelong dream, and I relished the chance to work on nationally syndicated talk shows such as “The Jenny Jones Show” and “The Sharon Osbourne Show;” films such as Daredevil and The Ring; and awards shows including the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, American Music Awards, and more.

In 2005, I returned to my magazine journalism roots and became a full-time freelance writer and editor, working with publications including Glamour, REDBOOK, Playboy, Robb Report, Variety, LA Confidential, Thrillist, and many others. Though I covered many different beats, my main areas of specialty have been lifestyle, travel, food, and wellness. Additionally, I have authored nearly 100 books geared at tweens and young adults for publishers including Capstone Press and Enslow Publishing (as “Jen Jones”).
