About this Event
Clemson in the Lowcountry Presents: Clemson Libraries and Creative Inquiry
Come join us at Founders Hall for an exciting and informative evening featuring Dean Christopher Cox and Dr. Barbara Speziale!
Clemson Libraries includes seven locations: the main Cooper Library, Gunnin Architecture Library, the Education Media Center, Special Collections & Archives, Library Depot, and spaces at CU-ICAR in Greenville and the Charleston Design Center totaling over 800,000 books and other print materials available in our libraries, and over 2 million eBooks, journals, and streaming media titles available 24/7. Inside Cooper Library is the Learning Commons/Writing Lab, Adobe Studio & Makerspace, Data Visualization Lab, and Social Media Listening Center. Clemson Libraries also includes the University's three historic properties (Fort Hill, Hanover House, and Hopewell Plantation) and the Clemson University Press.
Creative Inquiry (CI) is Clemson University’s unique combination of undergraduate research, experiential learning and cross-disciplinary interactions. Team-based investigations are led by faculty mentors and typically span a year or more. Students take on problems that spring from their own curiosity, from a professor’s challenge or from the pressing needs of the world around them. Each year, approximately 4,500 undergraduate students in all disciplines engage in approximately 400 team-based multi-semester research projects mentored by faculty, post-doctoral researchers and graduate students. Since 2005, more than 72,000 students have engaged in more than 2,500 CI projects.
