Description of planned work
To support our community days project, work is continuing with pond creation along Harrow Weald Common at Old Reading. Creating of dead hedge weaving around boundaries of the newly dug ponds, clearing invasive holly trees and creating leaky damns along streams to retain more water on site.
There will be the opportunity to try your hand at various different tasks throughout the day, taking it at your own pace and breaking as needed. Everyone is welcome to join and it is open to all abilities, this clearance work is suited to those aged at least 9 years or above. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
What to Bring?
Gloves if you have your own, we will also provide for those who need.
Pack lunch and your own refreshments as we will lunch together around midday.
Sturdy waterproof footwear, wellingtons recommended if wet weather.
Layers are best to keep warm.
What we provide All tools and training will be provided, please do bring along gloves if you have your own.

A Warden will meet you at the view point car park, and walk with you down to the Harrow Weald Common.
