Curious about using molds in your ceramics practice? This two-day, hands-on workshop offers an accessible and engaging introduction to working with clay molds—perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. Participants will explore a variety of forming techniques using press molds, drape molds, slump molds, and slip-casting. We’ll demonstrate how to work with both plaster and non-plaster molds to shape clay in new ways—whether you’re interested in functional forms, sculptural elements, or playful experimentation. The focus is on using molds, not making them, and all materials and tools will be provided. While this is not a take-home-in-a-day workshop, participants will produce several clay pieces during the session. Completed work will be fired at the facility and available for pickup at a later date. Whether you’re expanding your skills or trying something new, this workshop offers a fun, supportive environment to discover the creative possibilities of working with molds.
