Join local ceramic artist AnnMarie Cooper for a children’s clay workshop for ages 6 – 12.Does your child have a favorite creature from the animal kingdom? Would they like to bring it to life in 3D? In this two-hour class, AnnMarie will teach students basic hand-building techniques to sculpt clay into creatures. From dogs to dinosaurs, the only limit is your child’s imagination!
After the class, AnnMarie will fire the sculptures in her kiln and will provide instructions for finishing at home with paint. Firing takes approximately one week, and participants will be notified with pickup instructions when they’re ready.
Artist AnnMarie Cooper owns Good Earth Pottery in Fairhaven and has a studio in Starflower Studios, across from the Whatcom Museum. She has more than 15 years’ experience making and teaching ceramics.
Class registration fees include admission to the Whatcom Museum for one parent and child and all class materials including clay and firing costs.
