Description: Just getting started and wanting to dip your toe into the vast world of ceramics? Come build some simple, beginner projects of your choice. Miss Ruthie will teach students the basics of coil building and pinch pots with clay. Students will learn simple techniques, how to use a variety of clay tools, how to apply slip to create a textured surface, and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make as many coil and/or pinch pot projects as time will allow in class, and will glaze that night for a once-fire. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
