CLASSICS vs JAZZ
Album Presentation: Desert Sax
Experience a thrilling musical encounter where genres collide and inspire each other. CLASSICS vs JAZZ brings together two world-renowned musicians — pianist Vladimir Khomyakov and saxophonist Sergei Govorov — for an evening of virtuosity, contrast, and creative dialogue.
The concert unfolds in two captivating acts.
In the first half, Vladimir Khomyakov presents a dazzling solo classical program featuring masterpieces by J.S. Bach, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, and Sergei Prokofiev, highlighting the brilliance and depth of the classical piano tradition.
The second half transforms the stage into a vibrant crossover experience as Sergei Govorov joins Khomyakov for a genre-defying performance inspired by jazz and contemporary styles. The program includes works by Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Astor Piazzolla, and other legendary jazz composers, blending classical elegance with improvisation and rhythmic freedom.
This concert also marks the presentation of their newly released album Desert Sax, recorded in Los Angeles — a bold artistic collaboration that bridges classical and jazz worlds.
Two outstanding representatives of the Russian performing school on one stage invite the audience to witness a powerful musical conversation between Classics and Jazz — passionate, refined, and unforgettable.
