About this Event
Pianists Pam Goldberg and Albert Lotto will play a program of solo piano works by Bach, Scarlatti and Beethoven. These pieces span the course of a century and illustrate different compositional forms, styles and moods. Scarlatti’s C Major sonata as well as Bach’s G Major French Suite were both written for harpsichord and Beethoven’s joyful four-movement sonata as well as his earlier “Pathetique” Sonata were both written for the piano. It would be interesting to know how the two Baroque composers would feel about their compositions being performed on today’s piano.
