Veda Yoga - La Cienega is thrilled to welcome world-renowned sitarist, Reshma Srivastava, back to LA on Saturday, November 22, 2025 for a very special evening of Gandharva-Veda music - the eternal music of nature.
Gandharva-Veda music, the ancient Vedic science of sound and music, is based on the principle of aligning body and mind with nature's changing rhythms and playing specific ragas (melodies) depending on the time of day. This practice, which is intrinsically linked with Ayurveda, restores balance in the listener and the environment by harmonizing with natural frequencies.
Reshma Srivastava has been hailed as a superstar sitarist, and her performances are acclaimed as transcendent, soulful, and illuminating. Performing professionally for over 30 years, touring in India, Europe, and the US, Reshma's background in music and sitar originates from her family of musicians in Allahabad, India. Reshma's speed and accuracy in performing is phenomenal, and the depth of creativity in her improvisation and the variations of rhythms and melody deeply enrapture listeners and elevate the experience to an awakening of bliss and enlightenment.
