Join Chath Silva for "A spellbinding evening of classical guitar" - Australian Rural & Regional News.The concert program will feature a number of pieces from traditional works to contemporary and classical composers including Albeniz, Bach, and Barrios. The repertoire will include music from Spain, Latin America, Greece, France, Turkey and others, including arrangements and modern works written for guitar.
Chath is a classical guitarist and practicing medical doctor from Melbourne who was raised in country Victoria. He started playing the guitar at a young age and gave his debut recital at the Rotary International NSW at the age of 16. Since then, he has been performing throughout his medical career as his passion for music also stemmed from a desire to use it as therapy. His performances have been described has "enchanting" and of "technical brilliance and heartfelt expression" by The Buloke Times.
Chath's music has also been aired on ABC Western Victoria, and his recordings are available on online music streaming services such as Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, and others. His most recent work includes the Complete Preludes for the JS Bach Cello suites, which was released in June 2023.
This tour of 2025 follows his last two concerts in Knox City, Melbourne, and Birchip of the Mallee region.
