Carlos Rangel Paniagua, classical guitarist, presents an evening of Baroque and Renaissance music featuring works by early masters of the guitar traditions. His specialty focuses on the interpretation of ancient music (16th to 18th centuries), using historical replicas of plucked string instruments, such as the baroque guitar, Renaissance “vihuela” (vihuela), and lute, among others. His main goal is to introduce classical music to new audiences through recitals and mixing old/contemporary guitar repertoire. Carlos is also appearing at the Wayland Culture Convention on February 28, offering audiences another opportunity to experience his artistry.
Carlos Rangel is a Mexico-based classical guitarist trained at the National Conservatory of Music who specializes in early music performance. This concert marks his first official appearance in the United States.
