About this Event

Built in 1799, the carriage house that once housed the Mount Vernon Hotel is now one of Manhattan's oldest standing structures open to the public as the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden.

Join us as we celebrate the 225th anniversary of the building's construction with a special afternoon concert by renowned Viennese musician, Daniel Adam Waltz. To mark this occasion, Daniel will perform music from the 1790s, when our buidling was being constructed, by Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn on a rare 1792 historical fortepiano. Discover how Mozart intended for his music to be heard during this exciting and unique event.

The program will conclude with a reception and opportunity to meet Daniel and mingle with other guests over light refreshsments. The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum will also be open, as will the garden and gift shop.

All proceeds will support the work of the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden to educate the public about New York and American history in the 1820s and 1830s.
