Spring is coming, and that means picnic season is just around the corner! In this cheese tasting class, we’ll explore the art of creating the perfect portable meal, starting with the iconic Ploughman’s Lunch.
In this class, we’ll show you how to select cheeses that travel well and pair beautifully with a variety of accompaniments. From crumbly Cheddar and creamy Brie to tangy Stilton and nutty Gouda, we’ll explore how different textures and flavors play off seasonal fruits, chutneys, and fresh breads. You’ll also learn tips for assembling the ultimate picnic board, balancing savory bites with sweet touches and crisp, refreshing salads.
Of course, no portable meal is complete without the right drinks. We’ll guide you through pairing cheeses with low-intervention wines, ciders, and non-alcoholic options that are perfect for outdoor sipping. Learn how to build a balanced, flavorful picnic menu that’s both satisfying and easy to transport.
And because a picnic is more than just a meal—it’s a whole experience—we’ll also cover tips on presentation, packaging, and planning. Whether you're heading to the park, the beach, or your own backyard, you’ll leave this class armed with everything you need to create an unforgettable alfresco feast, full of fresh, vibrant flavors and thoughtful pairings. To fully participate in the class:
1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as a cheese plate, wine, and accompaniments for one.
2. Show up on the day of class! Class will begin at 7:30pm. This is a standing event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is about an hour and a half. After class, there will be time to tour our cheese caves as well as shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!).
3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please reach out to [email protected] before the day of your class if you or a member of your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions or requires seating.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
