About this Event
Visit the Gantt for a special screening of the 1974 film, Abby. All Classic Black Cinema films this season were released in 1974 -- the year of our founding -- to celebrate the Gantt Golden Year, our 50th anniversary!
Abby is a film about a marriage counselor who becomes possessed by a demon when her father-in-law, an exorcist, freed it while in Africa. This film stars Carol Speed as the title character, William H. Marshall, and Terry Carter. This blaxploitation horror movie was a big hit when it was released but was pulled from distribution following a lawsuit from Warner Brothers, who claimed it was a rip-off of its 1973 popular film, The Exorcist.
Don't miss the chance to experience this classic film in a vibrant and culturally rich atmosphere. For directions and parking, click here.
