Learn to Turn – Bowl Turning - Expand On Your Lathe Skills! Saturday, October 26th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Expand your woodturning skills with our beginner bowl-turning class! Designed for those familiar with the basics of lathe setup and operation, this course delves deeper into the art of woodturning by teaching you the techniques of bowl turning. Bring your lunch and wear close-toed shoes; we’ll provide the rest!
The expert woodturners and Diamond State Woodturners instructors will work one-on-one with individual students. Each student will have an assigned lathe and educator!

In this hands-on class, you will learn:
✨Techniques for preparing and mounting wood bowl blanks
✨Methods for hollowing and shaping both the interior and exterior of the bowl
✨Techniques for using bowl gouges, scrapers, and other design tools
✨Appropriate food-safe finishes for functional bowls
✨Achieving high gloss finishes for decorative pieces
Prerequisite: Have taken the Learn to Turn class or previous woodturning experience required.
