Description: Round and round we'll stitch...Handsew found, rescued, repurposed, and scrap fabrics into a cozy sample of kwandi/siddi-style quilting. The style is famed for no measuring, no planning, and no pins. Learn some hacks that kwandi enthusiasts would NEVER use ... but we won't tell, if you don't tell. If you want to spend a few hours relaxing while learning a versatile art, we hope you'll join us. This is an excellent way to celebrate your scrap stash through repurposing.
Come practice on our scraps, with all notions provided. You'll take home a specialized needle, needle-threader, needle-puller, and thimble, along with your sampler. If you have time, energy, and inclination, incorporate your sampler into a pillowtop, tote, or other refashioning piece using our upcycle-ready shams and tote bags.
If you like, bring a focus piece to incorporate or just enjoy the individuality of each scrap's contribution to this round and round stitching fiesta. The pictures include focal pieces cut from embroidered tea towels.
We will also offer our focal pieces for an additional cost ($15-$25).
Task lighting is not provided, so please feel free to bring your own.
