Friday night Jan 17 – Lunar Nectar – 2 Hours 6:30-8:30pm
You’ve heard of surya namaskars, sun salutations, a sequence of poses generally done at the beginning of an ashtanga or vinyasa practice to heat the body. Did you know there is a sister practice to the sun salutations known as the Chandra/moon namaskars? The chandra namaskars are meant to calm the nervous system and help create more soma, nectar, in the body. We will begin this slow vinyasa practice with a pranayama practice to help ground, moving into the moon salutes created by Shiva Rea. The rest of this juicy practice will focus on creating an introspective bhav/mood. We will end with a meditation for integration. This class is the perfect cultivation of the moon’s soothing lunar energy. All levels welcome.
Saturday Jan 18 – The Standing Series – Hands On Assists and Breakdown 11:30am – 5:30pm
We’ll go over poses in the Standing Series, including the sun salutations as well as the standing series: triangle, side angle, warrior 1 &2, revolved chair, lunge and more.
Whether you’re a teacher looking to assist your students in the standing series or a student looking to understand how to do the poses correctly in your own body, this workshop will benefit you.
Yoga teachers can receive a CE certificate for Yoga Alliance.
Sunday Jan 19 – The Muse of Creation (2 hours) 11:30-1:30pm
There are many ways to tap into our own creative energy. One of the most powerful ways I’ve found is through movement, specifically vinyasa yoga. Join me for a creative fluid vinyasa practice courting our internal muse. In the Hindu pantheon of gods, Saraswati is the goddess of creation. I call her the muse of creation. We call upon this archetype when seeking inspiration to create and manifest ideas/projects/art/learning. She is known as the goddess of music, the arts, speech, education and science. Join me for a sadhana, practice, to connect to our inner muse.
