CLAMLINES 2024 Clamlines 2024
Thursday 25th - Saturday 27th July

Clamlines is back for 2024! The weather was warmer for a few days and it got us feeling all summery so we thought we better announce! We've looked far and wide: from the Clam basement, all the way to the other side of the world and we're bringing some big ones to 12 Exchange St at the end of July. Apologies for some of the following descriptions. Email [email protected] if you have a complaint.

THURSDAY 25TH JULY

MR BEN & THE BENS
Ben Hall has been relentless in churning out melodic pop hit after melodic pop hit over the last decade or so and this year is no different, dropping excellent new album Small Wide World on Bingo Recs. He's rotated the Bens, but it's the melodic, lyrically excellent stuff we all know and love.

BEAN WEEVIL
Sheffield's most EVIL band, who betray their evil by playing catchy-as-hell, sweet indie-pop and ROCK MUSIC.

FAINT PAINT
Completing the traditional 'Sheffield Night' are Faint Paint. Shimmering, cinematic, and tinged with a Lynchian uncanny, Faint Paints' songs shapeshift between off-kilter dream pop and a doo-wop nightmare.

AFTERS...TBC, BUT EXPECT DANCEABLE PARTY HITS PLAYED BY A VARIETY OF PEOPLE OFF A PHONE UNTIL LATE/EARLY

FRIDAY 26TH JULY

HOLIDAY GHOSTS
From the sunny south coast, Holiday Ghosts return to us after a mammoth US tour, non-stop gigging over the last 5 years and a new album that is the hottest property around.

THE TUBS
I got in touch and said "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN THE TUBS PLAY CLAMLINES THIS YEAR" and luckily they said "Aw hell yeah fuck yeah shit yeah!". Their schedule is relentless, their music is dreamy (debut LP Dead Meat on Trouble in Mind was everyones album of 2023, mine included) and we're blessed to have them between various other large festy appearances. And I can wear my Mastered by Mikey Young t-shirt.

SUEP
We can't get enough of Suep and their magnificent catchy-wonky-dreamy-indie-pop(?!). Their album Shop on Memorials of Distinction is endless hit-after-hit-after-hit and they are just the most fun live band you could wish to see and will leave you with a big beaming smile long after they finish.

BUZZ LIGHTYEAR
Riffs 'n' biffs from the heavens of the clam. Were those huge new songs I could hear in practice the other day? Maybe!

AFTERS...TBC AS USUAL, BUT EXPECT SUPERSTAR DJ'S, DANCING AND...WHO KNOWS? DEPENDS WHAT PEOPLE ARE CLAMOURING FOR.

SATURDAY 27TH JULY

DELIVERY
All the way from Melbourne, Australia, Delivery are returning to clam after they played my favourite gig of 2023. Flying over for a variety of the UK's biggest festivals, they couldn't resist playing the absolute biggest. A magic blend of garage, post-punk and new-wave pop, as is the current Melbourne tradition. I'll need to wash my Mastered by Mikey Young t-shirt overnight.

SISTER WIVES
Sheffield/Wales' finest. Bewitching crowds across the land with their unique anglo/cymru psychy prog post-punk sound.

VANITY FAIRY
Vanity Fairy is the creation of songwriter and vocalist Daisy Capri, a vehicle within which she can escape to a world where disco remains Queen. Check out latest single 'Top of the Pops' on Moshi Moshi, and then imagine it being played in a live environment, then imagine how good that, and all the other songs will be.

GRAZIA
One of the clam members sent me some videos of Grazia playing...maybe their first show (?) a few months ago and I said "holy shit we gotta get them on!!!!" so we are getting them on and you too can say "holy shit!". Their debut EP 'In Poor Taste' is stunning. And I can keep my Mastered by Mikey Young t-shirt on and not have to explain it to ANYONE.

GOLD CUP
From the rainy city across the Pennines, Gold Cup played clam a few months back and were truly excellent. Relentless fuzzy garage punk/pop to get ya boppin.

OYSTER
A Manchester supergroup of sorts dear to our hearts, we can't wait to welcome Oyster over to DC. "Gruesome Sound" was released last week and it's already an earworm I can't get out of my pathetic brain.

AFTERS...TBC BUT EXPECT FRIGGIN KARAOKE OR SOMETHING!!!
