Step inside the pages of a diary that’s messy, hilarious, and painfully relatable. The Diary of a 20 Something is a musical cabaret that cracks open the chaos of life in your late teens and early twenties - first loves, the soul-crushing hopes you have about that one guy you matched with on Tinder, career confusion, late-night adventures, and that ever-present quarter-life crisis.

Through a mix of musical theatre favourites, pop anthems, and diary-style confessions, Isabelle Venice takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride through the highs and lows of growing up (but not quite feeling grown). One minute you’ll be laughing at the disasters of modern dating, the next you’ll be clutching your drink wondering if you, too, peaked at 22.

Raw, witty, and deeply personal, The Diary of a 20 Something is a love letter to imperfection and a reminder that no one has it all figured out. So pour a glass of cheap wine, turn the page, and get ready to relive the beautiful mess of your early adulthood.

BIO:

Isabelle Venice is an emerging musical theatre performer currently completing her Bachelor of Music (Performance) in Musical Theatre at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Her vocal training has spanned over a decade, studying with esteemed teachers including Robert McDougall, Peter Cousens, Nicholas Gentile and Melody Beck, and has had the opportunity to learn from industry specialists through masterclasses and private coaching with Lara Mulcahy, Margi de Ferranti, and Joshua Robson Productions.

On stage, Isabelle has performed a diverse range of roles across university, community and independent theatre. Selected credits include Marmee March in Little Women (MUSE, 2023), Catherine (alt.) in The Theory of Relativity (Sydney Conservatorium of Music, 2023), Soloist/Herself in Sondheim on Sondheim (UNSW MTS, 2024), The Witch in Into the Woods(Sydney Conservatorium of Music, 2024), Alex in In Pieces: A New Musical (MacMS, 2025), and Marmee u/s in Little Women (Dural Musical Society, 2025). Earlier roles include Rizzo in Grease, Gabriella in High School Musical, and one of ten Street Urchins in Little Shop of Horrors.

Isabelle is also active on the concert and cabaret stage. She has appeared as a featured vocalist in The Voices of Robert McDougall, Daniel Belle and Silvie Palladino (Neil Gooding Productions, 2023), the Sydney Conservatorium’s New Music Ensemble in What’s That Spell? (2024), The Planets Suite with the Modest Orchestra (2024), and has had the pleasure of performing at Claire’s Kitchen previously in her self devised cabaret “No One Is Alone - Xia Lian Wilson and Isabelle Venice” (2024). She has also performed at the Hayes Theatre Company as part of their Artist’s Lab with Emma Snellgrove’s Crossing Tracks (2025), but most recently as a backing vocalist in An Evening With the Music of Peter Allen (2025).
