We are excited to welcome vocalist and clarinetist Claire Piersol to TELLERS SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH January 4th. Joining Claire will be guitarist, Bassist, and Banjo player extraordinaire Tyler Jackson! **He might not play all of these at one time!
About the Artist:
Claire Piersol was born and raised in Edmonds, Washington and currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma. A jazz clarinetist and vocalist with a sound that is reminiscent of the jazz heroes she grew up listening to. You can hear a variety of jazz at performances including swing, standards. hot jazz and traditional jazz. Claire graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. Claire began to gig around the Puget Sound area, Bellingham, Washington, and Vancouver, Canada while she was a student at WWU.
A band member, band leader, counselor, teacher and guest artist that has performed in thirteen states and nine countries.
Bria Skonberg and Claire co-founded the all-female Mighty Aphrodite Jazz Band while they were in college. The MAJB performed at concerts and festivals throughout the United States including the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, The Suncoast Jazz Festival, The Arizona Classic Jazz Festival, The Elkhart Jazz Festival and the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival. In addition, they had the privilege of performing on a Jazzdagen cruise and a JazzFest at Sea cruise.
The Claire Piersol Band was created after Claire moved to Oklahoma. Claire has performed at jazz clubs, restaurants, bars, concerts, parks, festivals and cruises throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
