Never heard of a Death Cafe? A Death Cafe is a venue for open and judgment-free discussion-- over coffee and snacks-- about death, dying, and grief. Neither a support group nor merely morbid, the aim of a Death Cafe is to stimulate conversation and decrease the stigma surrounding the one thing we all have in common: that we all die. Death Cafes are hosted all around the world, and The Central Kansas Death Care Collective is bringing them to Salina!CKDCC is a collective of practitioners and caring individuals interested in the field of dying and death care in community. Our goal is to empower individuals and their families by promoting a holistic and community-centered approach to end-of-life care. We connect people to resources and information, provide educational opportunities and programs, assist with planning and information about alternative choices available, provide referrals to service providers and respond as needs arise in the community.
