Carolina Kids Co-op Gainesville presents Homeschool Community Day: Field Trip to The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum — AND — Castillo de San Marcos National Monument~ ALL HOMESCHOOLERS WELCOME ~
Yo ho ho, me hearties! Join us for TWO historic field trips in one day! FIRST, we’ll take a guided, interactive tour of The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, which has the largest collection of pirate artifacts …and plenty of pirate booty. THEN, we’ll cross the street for a self-guided exploration of the Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortress in the continental U.S. Built by the Spanish in 1672-1695, the Castillo served as a crucial military outpost for more than 300 years — transitioning from Spanish to British to American control.
💎 Field Trip Stop #1 —
When: Friday, 02/27 at 11A (Tour at 11:30A)
Where: The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, 12 S. Castillo Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32084
Minimum/Maximum: 20-30 people (adults and children combined)
Cost: (**paid to CKC by Friday, 02/13)
* $7.50 — Students K — 8th grade
* $12 — Students 9th and older
* $12 — Adults

💎 Field Trip Stop #2 —
When: Friday, 02/27 at about 2P (**following the tour of The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum and a wiggle break on the lawn surrounding the Castillo)
Where: Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, 1 S Castillo DrIve, St. Augustine, FL 32084
Cost: $15 per person (children age 15 and under free) **paid individually at the door

⚓️ Parking Suggestion—
Although certainly not the only place to drop anchor, I suggest the Historic Downtown Parking Facility located at 1 Cordova Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084 for the cost of $20 per vehicle.
📜 Very Important Details—
* Parents MUST accompany and be responsible for their children at all times. (No drop-offs for field trips.)
* **All payments must be received in full by Donna Foster, CKC Event Coordinator by Friday, 02/13 via Venmo or PayPal (**choose Friends & Family to avoid their fee), and are non-refundable. **Please remember with all payments to note your FB name (for matching purposes), number of adults and number of kids (and their grade).**
* If you need to cancel your reservations after you’ve made payment, you can find a homeschool family to take your spots. CKC can not be responsible for managing payments between others.
* CKC Co-Op Families are encouraged to invite their homeschool friends to join us for this field trip! This event will be OPEN TO ALL HOMESCHOOLERS in Alachua County and the surrounding area.
* Please stay tuned to the event for messages from CKC Event Admin.
* **We’ll meet near the front of The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum (possibly on the Castillo lawn right across the street from the pirate museum) at 11A and enter as a group at 11:30A sharp.**
* ** Give yourself plenty of time! If you are late for any reason, The St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum may NOT allow you to enter at a later time after the group.** We have reservations that CKC cannot alter the day of the event. If you’re late, you may be able to purchase additional tickets through the ticket office if available. CKC cannot offer refunds.
