The Atkins-Johnson Farm and Museum will come alive when the 3rd Missouri Infantry holds their annual spring muster. The lawn of the historic Atkins-Johnson Farm will be dotted with as they enlist, drill, and share with you all what it was like to be a Civil War soldier. Drills will take place at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.The 3rd Missouri Infantry is a Civil War reenacting unit based around Kansas City Missouri, portraying and teaching the history of the American Civil War through living it. The 3rd Missouri, originally known as Crowley's Clay County Company, is the oldest Civil War reenactment unit in Missouri. Established in 1976, the 3rd Missouri is dedicated to the preservation of our American Civil War heritage by accurately portraying the Civil War soldier from Missouri.
The event is completely FREE and open to the public. Inside the museum, you can also see Sounds of the Nation: An American Music History on display April 2 - June 28.
