Topic: Exploring Artistry to Build Relationships Across BorderAs we prepare our hearts and minds for the inaugural Jacksonville Civil Rights Conference, LIFE and United Way of Northeast Florida are partnering with MOCA Jacksonville to present the first of two Civil Rights Learning Exchanges. This limited-seating opportunity aims to spark meaningful cross-cultural conversations and increased understanding of Civil Rights challenges and solutions.
This intimate event will include a private viewing of MOCA's newest exhibition, Kara Walker: Cut to the Quick from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, led by MOCA Jacksonville staff. Following the exhibition tour, director of UNF's Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnic Relations and United Way board member, Dr. Rudy Jamison, and director of UNF's Center For Urban Education and Policy, Dr. Chris Janson, will lead small group discussions to reflect on the imagery, emotion and power behind this gripping exhibition.
This event is generously sponsored by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund.
