How to setup and NGO and advocate and lobby for your cause
About this Event

You may benefit from these workshops if you wish to set up a community group, connect as neighbourhood social groups or start an initiative for the community. Lunch will be provided.

We will be covering how to setup an NGO as well as advocacy and lobbying in this session. You will learn

• Understanding operating environment of community non-government organisation

• How to engage and mobilise resources (people, money)

• Compliance and good governance

• Setting a strategy and plan Community Organisation

• History of community organising

• Types of lobbying and advocacy work

• Building the evidence for your cause

• Mobilising resources

Participants will use the skills and techniques learned to develop their advocacy campaign for their identified issue

This session will be presented by CEO of Inner Sydney Voice Marika Kontellis on behalf of the City of Sydney.
