About this Event
The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute welcomes you to Petit Jean Mountain for the first Faith and Community Convening, a collaborative discussion open to faith leaders and representatives of Arkansas’s municipal governments as a chance to forge new paths for partnership between faith institutions and municipalities. The convening will take place August 29, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute.
WHY: The goal is to build mutual understanding and to define relationships between these two groups. The Faith and Community Summit brings together Arkansas’s ministerial alliances and municipal government representatives to discuss the role of congregations in community, identify barriers to engagement, and potential pathways and partnership models.
WHAT: During your time at the Institute, we will hear from several successful faith organization/municipal partnerships, identify barriers to more partnership, and outline pathways for Arkansas’s institutions of faith to serve as drivers of civic engagement in their local communities.
WHO: Representatives of Arkansas’s churches and faith-based organizations, as well as municipal government officials
WHERE: Winthrop Rockefeller Institute at 1 Rockefeller Dr, Morrilton, AR 72110
*Meals will be provided.
We have a small amount of onsite lodging available the evening before the summit. If coming in the day of the conference would prevent you from attending, please reach out to Aaron Keith Kennard at [email protected] about coming in the night before.
We look forward to seeing you at the Institute!
