About this Event
Join us for an evening in collaboration with B-Side HiFi, where together, we'll experience the warmth and depth of vinyl records through a meticulously curated stereo system. Each listening session will last for two hours, during which we'll be playing a selected album on vinyl, in full, from start to finish.
For this session we'll be listening to A Tribe Called Quest's 1991 album, 'The Low End Theory'.
A little bit about the carefully crafted system that Eli has curated...
- At the heart of our setup is a vintage Thorens TD160 MKII turntable, renowned for its precision and clarity. This Swiss-made classic brings out the nuances in every groove, faithfully reproducing the artist's intent.
- Powering our system is the legendary McIntosh MC275 vacuum tube amplifier. This audiophile favorite delivers rich, dynamic sound with a touch of tube warmth that perfectly complements vinyl playback.
- For speakers, we alternate between two exceptional pairs. Our vintage Pioneer Exclusive (TAD) speakers from the 1970s offer a glimpse into the golden age of hi-fi, with their detailed and expansive soundstage. Complementing these are the modern Zu Soul 6 speakers, built right here in Utah and known for their efficiency and lifelike presentation, bringing a contemporary edge to our listening experience.
Here's some additional info for the evening:
- Doors will open 15 mins before the listening session starts. Please arrive punctually, so we have plenty of time to settle in and listen.
- We invite you to put your phones away, get cozy and explore the idea of intentionally listening. Let's be present, so we can enjoy the sacred soundwaves.
- If we have some extra time after the album, Eli will tap into his personal record collection and give us a taste of some of his current favorite songs, artists and albums.
Home has always been and will always be about listening. Let’s do it together, one song at a time, at our home in the city.
