Winter 1850, the County of Sacramento and City of Sacramento were incorporated by the California State Legislature.
Both free and enslaved early California Pioneers of Pan African Ancestry were apart of our Gold Rush Era Heritage in the transition from Mexican to American rule.
Today, our 2025 City / County of Sacramento Inaugural Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony seeks to continue alignment of Regional Juneteenth Celebrations with our newest Title 5 US Federal Holiday.
Everyone is invited to come share this historic occasion this very special 160th Anniversary Year of Juneteenth.
Together, we recognize the symbolic year of 1865, at the close of our U.S. Civil War that preserved the Union and ended Chattel Slavery throughout America.
