The City of Pocatello is excited to partner with the League of Idaho Cities for a free, family-friendly Open House STEM Night October 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Marshall Public Library, 113 South Garfield Avenue.
The event will offer kids and families a chance to explore how their city works while enjoying hands-on activities, City vehicles, and free food provided by the League of Idaho Cities.
This event is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to connect with residents, promote civic engagement, and showcase the work being done by various departments across the community.
Attendees can:
• Meet the Mayor and other City leaders during a special reading of Friends City, a fun story that highlights the people who help make the city a safe and enjoyable place to live.
• Explore real City vehicles including fire trucks, police cruisers, sanitation equipment, and more.
• Complete an activity book with puzzles, word searches, and games to learn about the roles of different City departments.
• Win money for their school by turning in the final page of the activity book to be entered into a random drawing for a school cash prize.
“This event is a great way for families to engage with their local government in a fun, educational setting,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “We’re proud to work alongside the League of Idaho Cities to bring this interactive experience to the community.”
All are welcome to attend, no registration is necessary. For more information, please contact Events & Programs Specialist Xander Barigar with the Association of Idaho Cities at 208-344-7024.
