Celebrate the beginning of the end-of-the-year holidays in Dearborn by attending the city’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Monday, November 25, at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. 🎄✨This free, longstanding Dearborn tradition gets underway at 5 p.m. when attendees can visit with Santa’s reindeer outside the west entrance to The Center, before enjoying cookies and hot chocolate, along with seasonal songs, in the theater lobby. 🫎🍪
At 6 p.m., Mayor Hammoud will officiate at the ceremonial lighting of the city’s holiday tree, assisted by James Deller, a seventh grader at O.L. Smith Middle School.
The festivities will then move into the Michael A. Guido Theater for brief performances by the Dearborn Community Band, Dearborn Combined Chorus and Dearborn Youth Voices, culminating with an audience sing-a-long. 🌟
Following the in-theater portion of the event, everyone is invited to explore—for free—the Festival of Trees in the Lincoln Ballroom, where young attendees can visit with Santa Claus.
