About this Event
The Department of Neighborhoods celebrates Black History Month and finishes out the One Dream, Many Voices campaign by hosting a FREE community movie screening, featuring Genius: MLK/X (rated TV-14), a Netlfix series that explores the early lives of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X.
The series highlights how Malcolm X's release from Pr*son and Dr. King's university graduation spark their journeys to change the nation. The episodes show how their beginning rivalry, Malcolm X's first encounter with the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and Dr. King’s family obligations, test each of their commitments to the movement.
Popcorn and snacks will be provided in the Giant Screen Theater, located near Molecules Cafe. A photo booth will be available for guests to enjoy. This special event does not require purchasing a ticket to COSI (if you want to explore COSI, you will need to purchase a ticket). Parking is not included, and will cost $13 per vehicle.
