About this Event
The City is required to allow the public to attend Council meetings. The City is also required to consider the health, safety and welfare of Councillors, staff and the public attending Council Meetings. The requirements of the National Construction Code, the City needs to manage the numbers of people present at the meeting. In order to provide fair access for the community, the City provides a ticketing system for those interested in attending to book a seat. Tickets are restricted to one per person.
The City's aim is to ensure that all participants are safe and are able to hear the meeting. By securing a ticket, you agree to the following:
- You will remain seated all times whilst the meeting is in progress
- You will remain respectful and quiet during all parts of the meeting
- You will keep mobile phones on silent at all time during the meeting
- You will not live stream or use an audio recorder, video camera, mobile phone or any other device to make a recording of the proceedings of a meeting
- You will not say or do anything that is inconsistent with maintaining order at the meeting
If you breach any of the the above, Council can take action if necessary to protect participants and maintain order at the meeting. Such action may include expulsion from the meeting and restriction from future attendance.
The meeting (or public forum, if held) will start at 5:00pm.
Council requests that you arrive no later than 5:30pm as Council building's doors are not monitored after this time.
If all tickets have been taken or you do not wish to secure a ticket, you can still watch the Meeting as it is live streamed on the City's Website.
