Join us for the City Nature Challenge in Winter Haven to explore and document the unique scrub habitat through a fun bioblitz!About this Event
Scrub ecosystems are among the rarest in Florida. Join us to bioblitz a scrub parcel in southeast Winter Haven.
The property we'll be bioblitzing is approximately 100 acres with scrub habitat and some seasonal wetlands. City of Winter Haven staff have seen some threatened and endangered species on property, so we will ask all participants to carefully watch their step as they bioblitz. If you keep your eyes open and you may get to see one of those species, too!
This area of the county is one of the few places in the state you may see scrub lupine (Lupinus aridorum), so we're hoping to 'observe' this critically endangered species!
This event is offered in partnership with City of Winter Haven as a part of organized by The Nature Conservancy.
