Join the Global Wildlife Count with the 2024 City Nature Challenge!By getting involved, you can contribute to a greener, healthier region. To take part, all you need to do is:
🦅 Explore wildlife
📸 Take a photo of what you find
🤳 Share it to iNaturalist
Other users and scientists will verify your images or sound recordings.
The City Nature challenge is a four-day long competition beginning on Friday and ending on Monday, how many pictures of wildlife can you capture in a long weekend?
Te Upoko o te Ika, Wellington Region, have teamed up again this year to promote the City Nature Challenge together. During the challenge, councils, organisations, schools, universities, and community groups are working together to get more people outdoors, capturing photos of nature. You can join in events, online workshops, or create your own BioBlitz event with friends.
We are one of over 400 cities around the world who use the app iNaturalist to search, report, and log any sightings of wild plants, creatures, or organisms.
Keep an eye on this event page for more updates and competitions.
