The Gulfport City Council will hold a public workshop on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. to begin a community conversation about the possibility of implementing paid or timed parking in select areas of the city. The workshop will take place at Gulfport City Hall, 2401 53rd Street South.
The City of Gulfport currently does not have a paid or timed parking system. This workshop is intended to explore whether such a system might be appropriate in the future, particularly in response to parking demand in busy commercial and waterfront areas.
Topics to be discussed include:
• Current parking challenges and trends
• Potential benefits and drawbacks of managed parking
• Examples from other communities
• Public input and community impact
• Enforcement, accessibility, and implementation options
This is an exploratory discussion, and no decisions will be made at the workshop. The City Council encourages all interested residents, business owners, and stakeholders to attend and share their perspectives during the public comment period.
