Join us for the 14th year of our biggest annual event, Bloc Party 2024! If you’re new to the Bloc Party scene, this climbing competition is one you don’t want to miss. With categories for all levels, from elite climbers chasing cash prizes to those just in it for fun, there’s something for everyone. Along with freebies and spot prizes from our sponsors, whether you’re an experienced climber or just starting out, there’s plenty to get stuck into.
Get ready for a jam-packed weekend of giveaways, and a healthy dose of climbing shenanigans. Refreshing drinks and snacks will be served all weekend and Tenzing will be on free vend for the duration of the event.
We’ve got the ‘Gold Diggaz’ category for those chasing the cash, the ‘Grafters’ category for anyone up for a bit of fun on some less serious blocs, and a youth category for the under-16 Grafters. Plus, there’s a nod to creativity with a fancy dress prize. As always, advanced ticket holders will bag our infamous Bloc Party T-shirt. Our sponsor stalls will be bustling, and don’t miss out on our ‘hunt the Oooshie’ game - last year, it turned out to be almost as exciting as the showcase finals! There’ll be banging tunes from DJs ‘House of Loft’ all day long. Who knows, you might just make it to the finals and find yourself under the spotlights, going head to head with some of the world’s top climbers.
This year, we’re spreading the action over the entire weekend, with qualifiers on Saturday and semi-finals and finals on Sunday.
Saturday 23/11/2024: Qualifiers
Bloc Party 2024 kicks off with two qualifier sessions on day one—one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Both offer the same blocs, so you can choose when to climb based on what suits you. If you want untouched holds, the morning’s your best bet, but if you prefer a slower start or need extra travel time, the afternoon session will be just right.
Climbers of all abilities are welcome, whether you’re here to tackle blocs or simply soak up the vibes. Just a heads up—the blocs are set with adults in mind, so while there’s no minimum age, climbers under 14 might find them a bit tricky. Under 18s making it to the semi-finals will compete with adults. Our usual entry and supervision policies apply.
For those looking for a bit of fun and a chance to win prizes, the ‘hunt the Oooshie’ game is back - find an Oooshie, swap it for a prize, and enjoy the buzz of the day. Don’t forget to swing by our sponsor stalls too.

Sunday 24/11/2024: Semi-Finals & Finals
On the second day, we’ll be hosting the semi-finals and finals. Scores from Saturday’s qualifiers will be tallied, and those who make the cut will be invited to compete on Sunday. The Semis will start at 10.00 and then those who succeed into the top 6 will make it to the finals which will start at 15.30.
Spectators are more than welcome - actually, we encourage you to come down, bring the energy, and cheer on the competitors. Everyone’s invited.
DRINKS - The bar opens once the qualifiers end, serving up beers from Northern Monk. Also, why not grab a drink or two while you cheer on the competitors in the semis and the finals.
SOCIAL - After the finals, why not join us for a sociable drink with your friends? We'll be keeping our doors open until 8 pm.
