Meet City Auditor Laura Doud
As Long Beach’s elected City Auditor, Laura Doud serves as an independent watchdog—conducting audits that promote transparency, accountability, and smart use of public funds.
The last time Doud visited us at the BHCA, she explained how audits can shape city policy. One example: a library services audit that flagged certain branches for limited access and underuse, prompting city discussions about how best to serve residents and whether to close or consolidate locations.
Auditor Doud’s work helps ensure city resources are used where they’re needed most.
