Welcome to the Citrus County Trash to Treasure Recycled Art Contest!
Application deadline April 7th
¨ Art must reflect an environmental theme and have a title.
¨ All media are encouraged. Entries can include painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, wearable art, etc.
¨ Art cannot depict violence, nudity or inappropriate themes, messages or images.
¨ Art must be no larger than 42 inches in any one direction.
¨ Three-dimensional art must be free-standing, ready for display, completely assembled, and sturdy enough to move.
¨ Art will be picked up at Extension’s Earth Day event, April 20th from 12-1 pm. Any art not picked up becomes committee property.
¨ One art entry allowed per participant. No group art will be accepted.
¨ At least 70% of the materials used in the creation of art must be from recycled, discarded, or used materials and listed below. Use of new materials may result in disqualification.
¨ Art cannot present a safety hazard while on display. Entries that are not able to free-stand, are falling apart, etc. will be discarded at the discretion of the committee. Entries that require electricity are prohibited.
¨ Art drop-off day is April 8, from 3 - 4:30pm at the Inverness Courthouse at 110 N Apopka Ave.
¨ All art must be submitted on this day and during these times only.
¨ Competition is open to all middle and high school students that attend a public, private or homeschool in Citrus County.
¨ Adult participants must be a resident of Citrus County.
¨ Judges will decide which art entries will be displayed in the exhibition. All judges decisions are final.
