Get a behind the scenes look into the Muskegon Police and Fire Departments at the Citizen's Public Safety Workshop!We are offering a one-day Citizen’s Public Safety Workshop. This program is hands-on and intended to provide citizens 18 years of age and older with a better understanding of the functions of law enforcement and the importance of public safety. It also aims to dispel misconceptions and increase positive communication between citizens and police. Topics include use of force, de-escalation tactics, mental health awareness, K-9 unit, traffic stops and fire extinguishing.
The workshop will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 8:00am to 4:00pm at City Hall 933 Terrace St. Muskegon, MI 49440.
The program is free, but space is limited. Anyone interested must submit an application and agree to a background check to be considered for acceptance to the workshop. Applications must be submitted by Friday, October 4. Breakfast and lunch included!
