Research is no longer just for professional researchers. Join us to learn about the various ways anyone can be actively involved in research
About this Event

Join us for an exciting and interactive event, the Citizen Science Showcase, where we celebrate the power of collaboration between researchers and the public! Discover more about how these projects work, and how you might make them your own.

Date: Wednesday, June 5, 2024

Time: 6PM GMT

Location: The Nucleus Building, The University of Edinburgh

You'll have the opportunity to engage directly with researchers, explore fascinating projects, and learn about diverse fields of study. Our panel will introduce us to four outstanding projects and the people that make them possible:

  • Bryan Yazell Climate Future Fiction: A Citizen Science Project
  • Sam Langford What Makes Viruses Tick?
  • Frankie Vale Empowered Journeys: A Co-Curated Exploration of Breast Cancer Surgery
  • Foni Joyce Oxford Refugee Center

We will then have the opportunity to continue the conversation over drinks and nibbles. Even better, you will be able to book some one-on-one time with project specialists as part of the second half of the event: our library of people. Whether you want to ask about their career, the design of their projects, or the discoveries they have made, these ten-minute slots are a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of involvement in research.
