Join Ardagh Community Trust for an afternoon of fun Circus Skills Workshops before the annual Halloween Party and Parade on Saturday 30th October, with food, drinks, fancy dress prizes and performances from our fantastic workshop leaders.
The Workshops are suitable for ages 6-12 and parents should stay onsite throughout (grab a coffee from the Café whilst you are here). The cost for each Workshop is £10 per child. Free workshops are also being planned and more information will be provide on those shortly.
Introduction to Tightrope Walking
Children will enjoy an introduction to tightrope walking by world-class Highwire Walker, Chris Bullzini (from the Bullzini Family Circus). This introduction will be followed by a warm-up and balance games, culminating in a genuine attempt at a real tightrope crossing 50cm above the ground.
Each Tightrope Workshop can take a maximum of 10 children and we have two start times (covering 30 children in total). Workshop timings are:
- 2:00pm to 2:50pm
- 3:00pm to 3:50pm
Introduction to Aerial Performance
A self-standing aerial rig will be erected 7m high with aerial equipment and safety mat. Participants will be welcomed in by the lovely and talented Miss Orly Phillips who will take them through a safety briefing and warmup before introducing them to a hands-on aerial experience where they find themselves safely lifted off the ground.
Each Aerial Workshop can take a maximum of 6 children and we have three start times (covering 18 children in total). Workshop timings are:
- 2:00pm to 2:50pm
- 3:00pm to 3:50pm
Following the Workshops, everyone is welcome to join the Halloween Fancy Dress Party and Parade which takes place from 4-8pm - more information will be available on our website.
The Workshop leaders, Chris and Orly, will showcase their Slackrope and Aerial silks at the Party. The show will take place at 7pm and include fire-juggling on the Slackrope as well as a graceful aerial dance in the silks.
