Circumpolar Agricultural Conference 2025The 12th International Circumpolar Agricultural Conference Arctic agriculture in a changing world, will take place in Tromsø, Northern Norway 23rd – 25th September 2025.
The conference will be two days indoors at the Fram Centre, Tromsø, and one day field excursion in the areas around.
We welcome everyone involved in arctic agriculture; farmers, governance, advisory services, farmers unions, cooperatives, indigenous organizations, companies and researchers.
The conference will be conducted in English.
About the Circumpolar Agricultural Association (CAA)
CAA is a non-governmental organization concerned with research, practice and policy related to agriculture in the north. The organization was established in 1992 with representation from the Nordic countries, Russia, the USA and Canada. One of the ideas behind the foundation of CAA was the desire to arrange a circumpolar agricultural conference approx every three years and thus bring people together for knowledge sharing and networking.
About the conference
CAC brings together people from research, management and others with an interest in agricultural production in the north. Each conference gathers around 150 participants from all over the Arctic – the Nordic countries, Canada, Alaska and Russia. For political reasons, participation from Russia is not expected in 2025.
The aim of the conference is to highlight the role of agriculture in the circumpolar bioeconomy and the importance of knowledge transfer to ensure competitiveness and sustainable value creation in the agricultural and food sector. Progress, trends and challenges in agriculture in the region with regard to innovation and development of the bioeconomy, are important topics. A special focus is on success stories which can be used to stimulate progress in various Arctic regions.
In 2025, NIBIO – Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy is the organizer om behalf of Norway.
