Circuits in the Woods is happening at multiple venues in Brattleboro featuring workshops, performances, and lectures on November 15. Performances in our space are drop-in, and non-ticket holders are welcome.
• 4:30 pm / John Levin performs live electronic music on his fifty year old Arp Odyssey. Back in the 1980s John studied at Mills College’s notorious electronic music program in Oakland California. More recently he and his Arp have appeared on Michael Robert’s 2023 LP Sympathizer. Old time Brattleboro people will recall fondly his Tuesday night residency at the Weathervane with Charlie Schneeweis as the power duo Tweak. Between 2009 and 2014 he performed several times in Europe, most notably with Ron Schneiderman in Copenhagen.
•3:30 pm / Ron Scheiderman projects include Spirit of Orr and Sunburned Hand of the Man. Ron will present an interactive performance using a Brattleboro-made Estey Field Organ, with audience participation.
•3:00 pm and in-between sets / Jay Sullivan has been involved in the world of experimental music since the 1990s, using field recordings, electronics & drone, releasing work on such labels as Rrrecords and Students of Decay. His DJ sets defy genre and traverse the globe, expect anything from broken beats to shimmering ambient.
