About this Event

Join Pat and Becky McGuire on a tour of an 80-foot diameter native pollinator garden, the Circle of the Springs Garden, located on the Upper Field in the Headwaters Sanctuary. The garden structure was inspired by an image on the White Shaman Panel on the Lower Pecos Rock Art. Composed of 16 planting beds and 16 crushed limestone paths, the garden contains 42 native pollinator species. Color, texture, and proportion were considered in the pollinator plant selection. Its planting scheme offers a broad range of colorful blooms, foliage colors, mature growth heights from groundcovers to plants reaching 5-6 feet, interesting textures, and varying blooming/berrying seasons. The garden nurtures birds, bats, and insects. In June 2023, 31 butterfly species were surveyed in and near the garden.

Participants should wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable attire, and a hat. Do bring a bottle of water.

This walk will be limited to 25 guests. Registration is required.
