As a leader of arts and culture in Wellington for over 50 years, Circa Theatre brings quality playwriting and performance to the Capital's glorious waterfront.Discover and celebrate the 50-year history of Wellington’s iconic Circa Theatre with a 1-hour guided tour of Wellington’s foyer and backstage area at 1 Taranaki St, Te Aro.
A Circa Councilor will take you on a unique guided tour of this historic building, including rarely seen backstage areas. Learn about the fascinating building move from 7 Harris Street to 1 Taranaki Street – including how the facade of 120-year-old Westport Chambers was trucked across the road and the new theatre built in behind it.
There will be 2x 1-hour tours daily at 11am and 1pm on Fri 25 (outside of Wellington Heritage Festival), Sat 26, and Mon 28 Oct, and only 1x tour on Sun 27 October at 1pm.
Duration: 1 hour per tour.
Booking is REQUIRED.
