The CIOB, supported by Leighs Construction and the Canterbury Museum is delighted to be able to invite its members and members of associated professional organisations via the Chch CE Co-op on a visit to the Canterbury Museum Site, followed by the opportunity to catch up and socialise at Fiddlesticks.
Come and see the Robert McDougall Gallery safely suspended 6m in the air while this highly technical build accross the entire museum site is underway. The build includes multiple complex engineering details like base isolators, fluid dampers, a diaphram retaining wall constructed with bentonite, micropiles as well as challenging interfaces with public spaces, pinpoint cadastral survey and settlement, tilt and displacement monitoring of adjacent heritage structures and extensive temporary support works.
Site requirements: All attendees must bring their own PPE (steel capped boots, high vis vest and a hard hat).
Members: gain 2 CIOB CPD points when you reflect on the ethical aspects of your learning from this activity.
Don't miss out on this exciting event and a chance to network amongst your fellow construction colleagues!
Please note: this event is for over 18’s only
