About this Event

Wine & Whiteboard Problem Solving - Melbourne CIO’s

Are you a CIO, CISO, or IT manager who wants to meet and collaborate with your peers to solve your problems?

One of the biggest risks in your role is to go it alone. To believe you need to always have the answer to every challenge you face.

The first thing we tend to do when faced with a challenge is to ask ourselves “How do I achieve this goal?”

Rather than procrastinating and feeling frustrated, what if we asked a different question?

“Who can help me achieve this?” is a much better question.

“WHO” creates results

“HOW” creates problems

Would you like help in solving some of your challenges? All in a fun, relaxed yet educational environment.

Typical problems most technology managers are currently facing include (but not limited to):

  • Building resiliency
  • Monetizing data insights
  • Use of AI in your business
  • Embracing digital transformation
  • Rationalizing the technology estate
  • Preparing to do more with less (Automation efficiency)

Building Resiliency

Building resiliency with technology enables you to think beyond your own team and help address this challenge for the company as a whole. Having the right technology can create a ripple effect empowering employees, which enables satisfaction and a superior experience.

Monetizing data insights

From a people perspective, analytical and quantitative skills are now more pressing than software engineering skills.

Use of AI in your business

From shiny object syndrome to game-changing applications AI has the ability to significantly improve certain aspects of a business. Bring a hypothesis to the group and see who might have already solved your problem.

Embracing digital transformation

It’s about being a partner in the business and finding the right partners who share an agile mindset and commitment to sustainable change and placing customers and employees at the heart of every digital transformation effort.

Rationalizing the technology estate

There has been a significant focus on cost optimization via technology business automation that allows enterprises to save limited resources, to make work less complicated To become lean without losing essential capabilities.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

The event is facilitated by Common Sense and hosted by CTRL Cybersecurity.

The event is run with strict Chatham House rules so your problems will never be discussed outside of the room.

The solutions come from “lived experiences only” - no giving out advice that you’ve not experienced yourself.

HOW IT WORKS

Relationships travel at the speed of vulnerability. You need to be in the right frame of mind to solve your biggest problems. We help by removing all distractions and curating the right group of like-minded professionals. You will be asked to provide a question/problem in advance of the session that the group will help solve. The wine is then opened (there’s always wine) and the whiteboard will be ready for action.

We will provide dinner after the whiteboard session has finished to continue to build the relationships developed during the session.

ABOUT YOU

Curious, ambitious, disruptive and open to ideas are the must-have traits for attendance. With a sprinkle of humility to know that you don’t have all the answers.

ABOUT US

We’re known for our peer-based relationships that start with an abundance mindset at their foundation. A collective of change-makers, innovators, and disruptors all growing and learning together.
